Frequently Asked Questions

What if I have diabetes, can I still get a pedicure or manicure

That is a tricky question. We recommend that you get your nail care done by a podiatrist. While it is legal for us to perform this service in SD, diabetes compromises your ability to heal from wounds, you have a loss of sensation and numbness and lose the ability to feel heat. Those factors make a pedicure unsafe for you. By preventing you from feeling heat, we could accidentally scald you with hot water in the pedicure tub. We cannot trim your nails because you could be accidentally nicked and it can lead to uncontrollable bleeding or a wound that won't heal due to a compromised circulatory system. The scrubs used to exfoliate the skin can allow bacteria so go into your hair follicles and cause an infection that your body would have a hard time responding to. Due to all these risk to your health, we do not perform these services on clients with diabetes.
